Pregnancy Tests

Health care staff at the Cabarrus Women’s Center and uCity Women’s Center use a laboratory-quality pregnancy test to verify the pregnancy of their patients. These pregnancy tests are 99% accurate as early as one day after a patient’s missed period. The outcome of the pregnancy test is confirmed by a registered nurse at the time of the appointment.

Ultrasounds

After a patient finds out that she is pregnant, our staff provides them with a free, limited ultrasound so she can see her baby. It is known that 80% of women that see their baby with an ultrasound will choose life for their child. At approximately five weeks, we offer a limited ultrasound to every patient who has a positive pregnancy test.

Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) Testing

According to recent statistics, one in two sexually active persons will contract an STI by age 25 (ASHA). The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that nearly 20 million new STIs occur every year in the United States, half of those among young people between the ages 15-24. We are able to offer STI testing for pregnant women who are still undecided after seeing their baby during an ultrasound.

Pregnancy Options and Information

Most women, after having an abortion, said they wish they would have been given more information. Our centers are here as the resource that gives women the information they need to know before going through with the procedure. When a woman comes to our center and finds out that she is pregnant, our medical staff meets with her to go over all of her options, what they each entail, and answer her questions. This provides her with the information she needs to know to make her own informed decision. Below is an overview of the education that is offered to our patients.

Abortion Recovery Program

Whether it has been 30 days or 30 years since your abortion, the Center has valuable resources that can help heal the hurt. We partner with several local ministries that can help facilitate vital healing from past abortion and help you feel whole again. We encourage all women to take that step and be set free.

Abortion Pill Reversal

In July 2015, we joined a national network of pregnancy centers and physicians offering Abortion Pill Reversal. An unplanned pregnancy can be very stressful, which leads some women to the decision to take the abortion pill. After taking the pill, however; some women will regret their decision. If a woman has taken her first dose of the abortion pill, Mifepristone (Mifeprex or RU-486), but decides she wants to keep her baby, our clinics may be able to reverse the effects of the pill through a safe and effective process. We have a nurse on staff who is ready to speak with these women immediately.
