Community Partnerships & Referral Programs

The Center has partnered with organizations within Cabarrus County and the local area to ensure that women have access to resources in their community.  Whether a woman is needing assistance with housing or counseling, the Center staff have the resource contacts that the women need.

Material Assistance

The Center is able to provide referrals for several forms of material or financial assistance for women who have chosen life for their baby.  Referrals can be provided for material assistance (organizations that provide diapers, wipes, formula and clothing for mothers/children in need), financial assistance (organizations that assist women who are experiencing with paying utilities, rent or groceries for them and their children), housing assistance (for women who need temporary places to stay), and to the Department of Social Services to discuss Medicaid Services.

Medical Assistance

Some women that come to the Center need assistance with finding physicians in the local community for their health or pregnancy. The center provides on-site treatment and referrals to Cabarrus Health Alliance or a woman’s physician for positive Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) and OB/GYN referrals for women who need a physician during their pregnancy.

Counseling Services

The Center cares for the well-being of all the clients that come through their doors. Some women may be in situations in which they need assistance to get out of an abusive situation, while others just need to work through some skills to gain some solid parenting skills. Community referral information can be provided for women who are experiencing domestic abuse (will contact CVAN-Cabarrus Victims Assistance Network immediately) to ensure the woman’s safety, family counseling, parenting classes, adoption services (currently refers to two local agencies) and spiritual needs (referrals to a local church if the woman so desires).
